Terms of Service

It is understood that the plaintiff's attorney, an officer of the court, will submit true and accurate information by hand or electronically to the Sheriff of Columbia County for the purpose of conducting a mortgage foreclosure sheriff sale. This information will be forwarded to the designated vendor(s) to create the sheriff sale handbill, newspaper advertisement, settlement/distribution form(s), and the sheriffs deed.

The sheriff sales are published in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance to rule 3129.2 (Notice containing the information required: a brief description of the property to be sold, its location, any improvements, the judgment of the court on which the sale is being held, the name of the owner or reputed owner, and the time and place of the sale).

The Sheriff of Columbia publishes sheriff sale information as a public service on the Internet through World Wide Web using a standard Web Browser (recommended: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer) and Adobe Acrobat Reader (5.0 or newer).
